La Capitale, a Quebec-based civil service mutual company, is offering high interest savings accounts with a promotional interest rate of 3.00% per annum.
The promotional rate expires January 31, 2020 for regular accounts and February 28, 2020 for TFSAs.
The current non-promotional rate is 1.15% per annum.
The accounts are offered by La Capitale Civil Service Insurer Inc, which is registered with the Autorité des marchés financiers under the Quebec Deposit Insurance Act.
Note that accounts may only opened by residents of Quebec. As such, Mr. Thrifty has not attempted to open an account.
